you both did a fantastic job on this piece... a persons first instinct might be a comparison to Easter Island but this goes much further than a simple depiction of a real place... for me the eye is saying "is it safe to come out now" or a waiting to be born... the old man in the foreground has an expression of regret for a ruined world... at least for me... I'm faving here because I already have a couple of Roberts works... I've known of this genre and seen it from a very casual, kind of glancing perspective over the years but it has truly become probably my favorite "traditional" style over the last couple months...
